Resource operations plan amendment to include the Boyne River and Tarong Water Supply Scheme and Boyne and Stuart River catchments

The Burnett Basin resource operations plan amendment was released on 13 June 2008. The plan amendment includes the critical water supply arrangements for the Boyne River and Tarong Water Supply Scheme and amends the critical water supply arrangements for the Barker Barambah Water Supply Scheme. In the Barker Barambah water supply scheme area, the amendments will allow for a more flexible approach to dealing with town water supplies during critical water supply situations.

Water resource plan amendment-Coastal Burnett Groundwater Management Area

The Water Resource (Burnett Basin) Plan 2000 (listed under the Water Act 2000) was amended on 30 November 2007 to provide for the sustainable management of groundwater resources in the Coastal Burnett groundwater management area.

Resource operations plan amendment-Coastal Burnett Groundwater Management Area

On 22 January 2007, the director-general announced his intention to amend the Burnett Basin Resource Operations Plan to include the Coastal Burnett Groundwater Management Area (PDF, 346 kB)*. Groundwater users (excluding stock and domestic groundwater users) will be granted water allocations under this plan.

Critical water supply arrangements

Critical water supply arrangements have been prepared by the resource operations licence holder and approved by the Department of Natural Resources and Water. The arrangements make provision for the supply of water during periods of critical water shortage.
