Draft water resource plan amendment

The Barron draft Water Rresource Plan amendment reviews the provisions for managing unsupplemented and subartesian water in the Upper Barron catchment area. This area encompasses the area above Lake Tinaroo and the Rocky, Spring and Cherry creek catchments.

Resource operations plan

The Barron Resource Operations Plan was finalised in June 2005 after a consultation and review process that began when the draft plan was released.

A key benefit of the plan is that it allows water trading among water users.

Water resource plan

The Barron Water Resource Plan was released in December 2002 following a submissions and evaluation process that began in 1996.

The plan aims to ensure water resources are sustainably managed to provide for present and future needs while protecting social, economic and environmental interests.
