Resource and distribution operations licences
Interim resource operations licences authorise the holder to interfere with the flow of water to the extent necessary to operate water infrastructure to which the licence applies. Licences may be granted in relation to existing infrastructure or proposed infrastructure in an area where a resource operations plan has not been approved .
Resource operations licences are granted in accordance with a resource operations plan, which is used to implement a water resource plan in specified areas. They authorise the holder of the licence to interfere with the flow of water to the extent necessary to operate the water infrastructure to which the licence applies.
Distribution operations licences authorise the holder of the licence to take water or interfere with the flow of water to distribute water under water allocations.
