Place name proposals
Anyone may begin the process of naming a geographic feature or area of land in Queensland by lodging an application at an NRW service centre. The department advertises the proposal in the Government Gazette and newspapers, and invites public comment for two months.
If you would like to comment on a proposed place name, please make a written submission by the date stated on the proposal.
This page will display current proposals until the Minister for Natural Resources and Water makes a decision on them.
