Valuations 2009
Land valuations will not be issued in 2009 following a decision not to revalue 17 local government areas previously nominated.
The local government areas are Balonne, Banana, Bundaberg, Cassowary Coast, Charters Towers, Croydon, Dalby, Etheridge, Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay, Mount Isa, Rockhampton, Redland City, South Burnett, Southern Downs, Townsville and Whitsunday.
It was decided to not issue the valuations in 2009 because of the current global financial crisis and extreme weather conditions impacting on Queensland landholders.
New valuations in these 17 local governments would have generally shown significant increases as sales reflected the recent property boom. Many valuations would have increased by more than 100 per cent. The impact of such large increases would be unreasonable in these tough economic times.
The only valuations issued before the next annual valuation process will be 'amended' valuations. Please see Fact Sheet: L15 - Amended land valuations for details.
