General advice can be sought from the Natural Resources and Water Service Centres, however specific survey advice can be sought from Surveyors in the District Offices or see the surveying contacts.

In addition, the department also provides a wide variety of astronomical information about the sun, stars, moon and planets available from the nearest Natural Resources and Water office. View a list of fees and charges for astronomical information.

Certified Statements and Court Certificates relating to the position of the sun and moon are also available from the Land Information Services. View a list of fees and charges for Court Certificates.

To assist surveyors, copies of original survey field records can be obtained from the Survey Control Database manager.

All land in Queensland is described by a reference to the lot number and survey plan number on which the land was described.

The Department maintains a register of the lot/plan references and regularly assists organisations to validate their computer records. CISP Administration can assist in these matters.

SmartMaps (SMIS) allows staff at departmental service centres to produce and sell mapping products for property, purchasing and surveying themes, reports on survey control data and survey plan records.
