Fundamental data

The information on the following databases is fundamental to all survey activities in Queensland. It has been lodged by consulting surveyors and many public and private organisations and complies with the appropriate standards.

  • The Survey Control Database contains a register of all permanent survey marks; it includes coordinates, height, access notes and other administrative information. Information on how to access permanent mark information is available on the Geodetic data web site.
  • Digital Cadastral Data for all land parcels in the state is continually updated being improved by adding new land parcels as well as improving the spatial accuracy of existing land information.
  • The Computer Inventory of Survey Plans records details of every survey plan ever lodged in the state. The historical links between plans are crucial to many survey activities and to the history of land tenure investigations.
  • The State Geodetic Network provides a fundamental framework against which all spatial information can be related. The department ensures the highest level of integration with national and international surveys.
  • Scanned images of survey plans, permanent mark sketches and survey control sketches are available from our CD library.
  • Hardcopy survey plans and survey records can be accessed from our archive systems.
