Plant available water is the portion of water held in soil between field capacity and the wilting point of plants. Simply put, plant available water is the soil water that can be absorbed by plant roots. It is influenced by the amount of rainfall or irrigation, the soil infiltration rate (Indicator: Change in soil infiltration*) and the soil permeability.
