European Satellite Navigation Competition 2008: Australian Challenge
Entries are now invited for the Australian Challenge region of the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2008—a prestigious event that fosters satellite navigation product development.
SmartMap
Property information such as property boundaries; valuation and sales data; and titles information can be displayed on a SmartMap.
The department captures, manages and provides fundamental geospatial information that defines the location and extent of land features in Queensland, and provides mapping, surveying, topographic, geodetic and property-based information and services.
Mapping
Mapping activities and products include:
- aerial photography
- satellite imagery
- property sales data and maps
- photographic services
- cadastral and topographic data and maps.

Surveying
Surveying activities include:
- maintaining the geodetic network for the fundamental referencing of geographic position and spatial information in the state
- maintaining computer information systems that are the basis of all survey activities
- establishing the standards for surveying in Queensland.
- providing survey advice
- providing astronomical information about the sun, stars, moon and planets.
