2008 Reconciliation Awards for Business

The Queensland Government Reconciliation Awards for Business, now in their sixth year, recognise individuals, organisations and businesses that are taking positive steps towards reconciliation, such as employment and training initiatives, promoting cultural heritage and tourism projects.

Individuals, businesses and community organisations operating in Queensland are eligible to nominate in the following categories:

  • Emerging Business—$5000
    Businesses which have been in operation for five years or less (as at 31 March 2008)
  • Established Business—$5000
    Businesses which have been in operation for six years or more (as at 31 March 2008)
  • Community Organisation—$5000
    For community organisations or groups working towards reconciliation within their community. These organisations are typically not for profit organisations or government funded groups.
  • Partnerships—$5000
    For two or more businesses and/or organisations working together to support reconciliation.

The overall Premier's Reconciliation Award will be presented to an individual, business or project for outstanding achievements towards reconciliation in Queensland.

Nominations closed at 5 pm Friday 7 March 2008. The winner will be announced at an official ceremony at Parliament House on 29 May 2008.
