Records of significant sites are kept in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Database and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Register, which are administered by the Cultural Heritage Coordination Unit.

It is necessary to make a formal request for information from these sources.

Please print, complete and return the the request form to the address indicated on the form.

General Access to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Site Database, Register and Reports Catalogue

At times it may be necessary to obtain general information from the database for purposes other than to satisfy duty of care guidelines under the legislation (eg. s45).

The 'Access to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Site Database, Register and Reports Catalogue Guideline' sets out the conditions for obtaining such information. It is necessary to complete a Data Request Form to obtain this information. When reporting information on the location of cultural heritage information a Deposition Form should be completed.
