Australasian Society for Bayesian Analysis:
A mailing list to encourage the communication among members of ASBA

gnss_group (Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS))

GNSS encompass satellite, ground infrastructure, and user equipment used to determine geographic positions on earth. The Global Positioning System (GPS) from the USA is the best-known current system. Russia also runs its own GNSS called GLONASS. The European Union (EU) has committed to developing its own satellite system known as 'Galileo'.

GNSS technology is used across Queensland in many applications that rely on accurate positioning of people, equipment and assets. GNSS is used in many industry sectors including road, rail, air and sea transport, surveying and mapping, natural resource management, fisheries, agriculture, exploration, mining, emergency services, construction and telecommunications.

The Department of Natural Resources and Water (NRW) is the lead agency on GNSS in the Queensland Government. This email list will be used by NRW to inform the GNSS user community in Queensland of important GNSS developments and events at the global, national and state level. It can also be used for questions, feedback and discussion between people interested in GNSS; either as users or as providers of associated services and infrastructure. It should be noted that the list is not totally open and emails sent by external users will be moderated by NRW.

re-maps (Regional Ecosystems Mapping Product Release Information)

The list will provide the following services:
- Notification of when Update Versions are released and
- Notification of when map amendments have been approved by NRW including 1:100,000 map sheet name and affected lot plans

The target audience are external to the department including:
- EPA Officers
- LGA Officers
- Other Government Department Officers
- Large Organisations who have purchased large number of maps
- Stakeholder groups

water-recycling (water recycling discussion list)

The WATER-RECYCLING list is a fully moderated forum intended to facilitate communication about issues relating to the reuse of water and wastewater effluents.

Typical areas of reuse include urban (eg direct and indirect potable, greywater, parks and gardens etc), industrial, agricultural, stormwater, and aquifer recharge.

Discussion will focus on all aspects of water recycling including planning, design, operation regulation, consultation, education, and marketing issues.

It is free to subscribe and participate in the group.
